If you intend to change PC or reformat the PC or activate a Second Station, you must first make a copy of all the data updated so far.
In practice you must copy the entire BULLBEAR folder located on the local disk (C:) and transfer it to a suitable support (USB stick, network disk, CD-Rom) then you must copy it to the new PC always on the local disk C: BULLBEAR folder. Once this is done, run the BBLOADER update software, located in the BULLBEAR folder and communicate to us the new registration number S/N …….. 8 digits. Alternatively, you can enter the new code yourself via the reserved area: http://user.bbfinance.net/ by selecting the option “Activate/modify BBLoader activation codes”.
If the update works without errors but with the analysis software you see the data not updated, the most common cause could be that on this PC there are two historical series in different locations.
If you use Metastock, in the selection of titles where the name of the folder appears, click the button to go back/up a level, until you find the local disk (C:) and then select the folder BULLBEAR, folder DATI, etc.
In the new PC, place the BULLBEAR folder in the root of the local disk (C:), which is the same location previously saved.
Then run our update program located in the BULLBEAR folder and it will automatically notice the new installation and the new registration number will appear (for example S/N 999999999) to communicate to us for activation.
To avoid losing data or having gaps in the historical series, check in the 'new' historical series what is the last date you see in some graphs, so as to start the updates again from that day.
It is caused by the shutdown of the PC with Metastock active, the data files remain open for reading. Our software automatically corrects this problem, but it may happen that the correction is not sufficient and then it is necessary to delete the temporary files from the folders c\bullbear\data\… (those with the symbol ???? in front) and remove the read-only attribute from the other files.
If the data update works, but is very slow (over 5 minutes) it means that there is an antivirus running that interacts with the data update. Since the database is very large, this data-by-data check considerably slows down the update procedure. Most antivirus programs are perfectly compatible and do not cause this problem, others must be set to avoid continuous checking of the update. If this is not possible, you can disable the antivirus during the update. It is also possible to install a free antivirus program such as Avast, downloadable directly from the site www.avast.com, which is perfectly compatible with our update software.
Our database has a different symbology and structure probably from yours. It is possible however with the Metastock downloader or other utilities to merge your history with ours.

Our server stores the date of the last update. The next time you connect, all the missing days will be downloaded automatically.
You don't have to do anything, our service automatically creates the new stock or futures or index in your database. At the end of each daily update you are still notified if there have been changes in your data archive, such as new entries or corrections.
CSV (Comma Separated Value) files are plain text files that store information separated by commas. MetaStock MetaStock software has built-in functionality to convert CSV files for use with MetaStock.
Step 1
Open the MetaStock DownLoader that comes with MetaStock (see Resources for the link; scroll down to “Symbol Database Files” and download “The DownLoader”).
Step 2
Click on “Tools” and then “Convert”.
Step 3
Select “ASCII TEXT” from the “File Type” menu. CSV files are plain text, so this will import correctly.
Step 4
Click “Browse” and locate the CSV file on your hard drive that you want to convert.
Change the “Destination” file type, if you want something other than “MetaStock”. Click “OK” to start the conversion. Your data will now be ready for use in MetaStock.
Corrections are made automatically on your entire history, using only the official values of the Italian Association of Financial Analysts AIAF.
Before performing the AIAF correction on your archive, we check your history to verify that no correction has already been made.
You will be able to configure in our software a list of stocks/indexes/futures/etc that will be created in a delimited text file of your choice. You can also choose whether to have a file for each stock or a single file for all stocks.
The message appears when:
a) the update software has been reinstalled
Solution: Communicate the new registration number and the last date of history update. In the case of 2 or more subscriptions, also communicate the other registration numbers in use, so as to change the correct one.

Simply request the software to be sent. If you need to proceed with a new installation, once the software has been installed (and possibly the history) send the registration number that is automatically generated (S/N 99999999).
Probably a data folder has been mistakenly deleted or damaged. Request the folder to be sent and replaced, indicating its name exactly (e.g. folder AZIO A-J).
No problem… by subscribing to the data service you will have free use of the BBChart software, which will allow you to view stock market data in daily and intraday graphic form and to carry out all the major technical analysis studies (Trendlines, Indicators, Oscillators, Gann, Fibonacci, Candlestick, etc.).
Data is made available throughout the day according to the closing times of international markets. Here is a brief summary of the times:
02:00 closing times for American indices, commodities, foreign indices in general, sector indices, intraday (if active)
05:00 closing times for foreign futures
09:40 closing times for Asian markets, SICAVs, minor indices, Italian funds
10:20 intraday (if enabled)
13:20 intraday (if enabled)

19:00 closing times for Italian stocks, futures (*),

(*) Friday's close futures are available from 07.00 on Sunday.
It is possible to move our data to a disk other than disk C: but it is necessary to follow the following instructions:
1. You should still leave the c:\bullbear folder and its contents but without the subfolders. The program BBLoader.exe and the BBLOADER.INI should therefore remain.
2.The folder c:\bullbear\dati and all the other sub-folders can be moved for example to the disk D:
The folder d:\bullbear\dati will then be created
Repeat the same operation for dati_eu, dati_us, dati_s1, dati_s2 etc..
3. In the c:\bullbear folder open the BBLOADER.INI file with Notepad and edit as follows:
Directory1=D:\bullbear\data
Where “d:” is the new disk. Obviously if the disk was E: change accordingly.
WARNING: if in the future you download new histories from your customer area, when you install them you must change the destination disk because by default c:\bullbear is proposed (so it will have to be changed to d:\bullbear etc.).

There are no professional technical analysis programs in the MAC environment, however it is possible to use the MAC
with specific software in Windows emulation, which are called VMWARE and Paralles Desktop (the best) and everything works perfectly (many of our customers use these software).
Alternatively, it is also possible to directly install Windows on the MAC as the primary operating system or as a second operating system using the Boot Camp software ( http://www.apple.com/it/support/bootcamp/ ).
To read Bull & Bear data in Metastock 17, follow the steps below to add a folder from the archive:
1. From the Tools Menu -> Custom list manager
2. New -> Local Instruments
3. In the “List name” field you can give the name to the list, for example “BLUECHIP”
4. Click on the “Browse…” button
5. The “Local Instruments” window opens, near the “Source folder” field find another “Browse…” button
6. In the window that appears select the desired folder following the path to the history,
for example “This PC” -> “Local disk c:\” -> Folder “bullbear” -> Folder “data” -> Folder “BLUECHIP” -> Click on “Select folder”
7. You return to the “Local Instruments” window, click on “Select All”, click on “Add”
8. You return to the “New custom list” window, click “Save”
9. You return to the “Custom list manager” window, click “Close”
10. From the “File” menu -> Open Power console, the “Power Console” window opens
11. In the “Instruments” -> “Local Data Lists” list you will see the list you just created.
To add all the folders in one step, follow the steps below:
1. From the Tools Menu -> Custom list manager
2. New -> Local Instruments
3. Click on the “Browse…” button
4. The “Local Instruments” window opens, near the “Source folder” field find another “Browse…” button
5. In the window that appears select the desired folder following the path to the history,
for example “This PC” -> “Local disk c:\” -> “bullbear” folder -> “data” folder -> Click on “Select folder”
6. You return to the “Local Instruments” window, click on “Create lists from subfolders”, a warning will appear, click on “OK”
7. Wait until the “Local Instruments” window closes
8. You return to the “Custom List Manager” window, close the window and reopen the “Power Console” from the top left corner icon with “P”
9. You will see the tree structure with all the folders.
To get the personal folder you have to do it through our download program BBLoader,
in the “File” menu find the item “Personal Metastock Folder”.
In the next window on the top right, choose the folder you created (which must be empty).
After selecting the desired symbols from the folders on the left, create the list on the left.
Please note that the folder cannot contain more than 250 symbols.
By saving the changes, BBLoader will remember its personal folder and the symbols inside, and will update the data at each launch.
If you simply want to transfer a saved list of instruments to another PC, just copy the following folder:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Innovative Market Analysis\MetaStock\18.0\CustomLists
Copy the folder from one PC and paste it to the same location on the other PC.
Another useful tool within MetaStock 18 that allows you to back up all of your files, including your custom list, is to go to “File” and select “Backup user files,” so you can take the files and transfer them to the other PC.
